Sliding Doors: A New Home at Hesketh Mount

We often talk about "Sliding Doors" moments—those split-second instances where life could have gone one way, but instead, it moved in a different, more beautiful direction. For me, that moment arrived recently, and it led me straight to the doors of Hesketh Mount on Lord Street.

The Gift of the Right Direction

The move to my new premises in the Lord Street Suite (Office 10) didn’t feel like a standard business transition; it felt like a profound gift.

In the film 'Sliding Doors', we see how a single moment of timing changes everything. For me, the opportunity to settle into this prestigious Victorian Southport landmark felt exactly like that. It was as if the universe held the doors open and invited me into a space that perfectly matched the "Conscious" energy I strive to bring to my work with couples and individuals.

Creating a Sanctuary

Stepping into Office 10, you immediately feel a shift in the "Atmosphere." I have spent the last few weeks "dressing the set" to ensure this space acts as a Safe Container for the deep work of connection.

Whether I am preparing for 1-to-1 sessions or deep-diving into the latest Imago clinical theory, the environment matters. I wanted a therapeutic space that mirrors the empathy and safety that therapy requires. It’s a place where:

  • The "Space Between" is Honoured: A calming, modern environment designed to lower stress.

  • The "Bridge" is Built: A professional yet warm setting that allows for quiet reflection and visiting new perspectives.

  • The "White Noise” Clears: A peaceful sanctuary away from the noise of the world.

Gratitude for the Journey

This move was a gift to me, and I am so honoured to now offer this sanctuary as a gift to those I work with. There is a sense of "meant-to-be" in these walls, from the mid-century style and comfort of the chairs to the quiet prestige of Lord Street outside.

As I look ahead to this new chapter, I am reminded that we all have our own "Sliding Doors" moments—those instances where we decide to stop, look at our direction, and choose a path of growth and understanding.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Formby Counselling Suite.
